My dad and I went to THE TOUR Championship yesterday and managed to avoid 100% of the rain. We also managed to be standing directly behind Retief Goosen when he nearly got a hole in one on the par 3, 2nd hole. See look, we’re in the video and thumbnail:

We filmed our Star Wars Uncut scene over the weekend, check it out:

Star Wars Uncut – Scene 312 on Vimeo.

Clearly, I’m an excellent actor. Dave came up with the idea to do it in the style of Clerks, and I think it came out really well. And more importantly, we had fun putting it all together.

Thanks to Kim for helping us film it and to Molly and Lando for providing sound effects.

Lori and I got married on November 15, 2008 (I knew that from memory), and it was awesome. We had fun, other people had fun, there was good food, lots to drink… you get the idea.

So, imagine our surprise when we got this in the mail the other day:

H. Solo

That’s right. Han solo will not be at our wedding. That sucks. Here’s a closeup of his reason for missing the event.

Han's Personal Message To Us

Naturally, I’ve spent some time trying to figure out who this actually is. We numbered the RSVP cards in case people forgot to write their names on them, which actually happened on a few, but Han was smart enough to color over the number so we can’t read it.

Things to consider:

  • Not that many people on the invite list would be likely to reference the Kessel Run.
  • The RSVP was postmarked in Atlanta.
  • Trying to rule out people that we know RSVPed.

This produces a pretty short list of people. I’m still not sure, though. Whoever it was — thanks, we got a good laugh out of it.

I noticed an awesome bug today while looking up directions on Google Maps.

Do this:

  1. Using Firefox, go to Google Maps.
  2. Click the Print link just above the map. This will pop a new FF window and a modal print dialog.
  3. Go back to the original FF window and type something somewhere, like in the address bar, or some web form or wherever.

Did it type in reverse? No? Honestly, it would sometimes not work for me either. But, between Lori and I we did see it happen in both Win XP and Vista with either FF2 or 3, including my new laptop (which doesn’t have Linux installed yet, or I would have probably checked there too).

Anyway, I thought it was a fun bug so I wrote a blog post about it.

There were some real heavy thinkers at the Thai restaurant tonight. I was trying to enjoy my Pad Thai and do some reading. They were changing lives:

“Believing that God doesn’t exist because his followers do bad things is like…” [pause while dude realizes he has to actually come up with something] “…believing skateboards don’t exist because there are bikes.”

Well, count me as a believer. In skateboards. But not bikes.
