Wow. Just heard about suspected Centennial Olympic Park bomber Eric Robert Rudolph being captured. I figured that guy had disappeared for good. Its hard to believe that I was only 18 at the time of the bombing.

I just saw my blog in the ‘Fresh Blogs’ section of Blogger.com. First time.

Its been awhile since the last post. And the funny thing is, its not because of a lack of fun and exciting things that I have done. Here is a quick rundown of recent events:

  • Alicia and I went to the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University. More specificly, we went to see the Rameses I exhibit. While the collection was smaller than I had expected, there were some amazing artifacts. The mummy of the Pharoh was exceptionally preserved. If you are interested in seeing this collection, it is only on display until September 14, 2003 before it heads back to Egypt.
  • Memorial Day weekend proved to be a fun time as a bunch of friends hung out at Darrin’s pool. The grill was a lit and the food was a good. Not to mention the Rum and Cokes. Thanks go out to Darrin and Bacardi for a fun time.
  • On the music front, some great new discs from two of my favorite bands have come out since the last post. First off is Cold’s (not to be mistaken for the crappy Brit band Cold Play) third effort, ‘Year of the Spider’. They are a pretty unknown band that I stumbled onto back in ‘98 or so. They have sorta followed the ‘everyting sucks and I hate all my ex-girlfriends’ trend that is common today, but they do it well. Next is the Deftone’s self-titled disc. This is a really great disc from start to end. Chino and the boys are great at mixing rough-gritty vocals and music on one track and then following up with a really mellow and slow track. In one word, excellent.
  • As for reading (something I am trying to do more of), I am still working on Stephen King’s ‘IT’. Next up, I am going to start on The Dark Tower series. Amazon.com has an interesting interview with the author about the upcoming conclusion to the series and other topics.

I suppose that is about all. The remainder of the weekend I look forward to relaxing and maybe watching a dvd or two.

A new blog of friend: www.cyanbane.com. I say that you should check it out.

WARNING: If you don’t want to know anything about the Matrix: Reloaded, stop reading!

Ok, I just returned from The Matrix: Reloaded. Unfortunately I would have to say that it was less than I had expected. There were some really sweet fight scenes and some good effects, but too much of it was just a boring storyline. Also, the rave scene in Zion was a waste. I do have to admit that I was very sleepy since I didn’t have my normal after-work nap. This one may require a second viewing to be fully appreciated.

Be on the lookout for a cameo by boxer Roy Jones Jr.

I am going to have to recommend X2 over this Matrix sequel.

[End Spoilers]

The Photos section has been updated with pics from Alfie’s birthday this past weekend. I had… FUN.
