This is my first post with the new blogger. It looks pretty cool plus I can do titles now without having to use any HTML tags. Hooray.
The old hit counter/stat tracker that I used to use (www.blogpatrol.com) is back online. I am very happy about this. It is ad-free, provides great stats, and has no cost. I was in the market for a new counter when my previous one started to have pop-ups galore when I would go and check my stats. This included the nasty gator install. Bad.
This past weekend I was lucky enough to spend some quality time with some great friends in Savannah, GA. It was beautiful. The house we stayed in was set in the heart of the historic district. There was even a nice little park across the street where we played croquet. The weekend consisted of hanging out by the pool, drinking the rum and cokes, and of course eating. It was great.
A great summertime event in Atlanta is the Screen On The Green Film Festival. This is a series of old-school movies projected onto a rather large screen in a park. It usually leads to good times. Last nights film was What Ever Happened To Baby Jane. The film was excellent, the fondue was delicious, the weather was a little too wet. All in all, if you are local to Atlanta and you are looking for a fun, inexpensive thing to do on Tuesday nights, I would head for Piedmont Park and catch a classic.
I went and saw Finding Nemo last night. It was an excellent movie. Aside from the animation, which was incredible, the story was great too. I would have to say that the best part was the attention to detail that was given to the underwater environments. There were all types of lifeforms enhabiting the ocean and while in the fish tank there were little flecks of stuff floating around just like you would see in the real thing. Before the movie there was also a pretty funny short film from the artists at Pixar.
A trend that I like that you really don’t see enough of is the playing of music in the men’s room. I was enjoying a nice dinner last night and was pleased to find that when I had to use the men’s room, the sweet sounds of a mariachi band emanated from the speakers. Very relaxing.
