The new trailer is up for the final LOTR movie. Looks excellent.
I fell in a hole.
Last night while walking down the street, my left leg fell in a hole in the sidewalk. My foot went down to about halfway up to my knee and I scrapped up my shin a little. It was hilarious. It was wedged in there such that I could not get it out with my shoe on. So, I had to reach down into the hole and take my shoe off. Then I had to squeeze my hand and shoe up through the hole. Finally, I was able to contort my foot in a way that I could get it out.
Thanks go out to Brian for trying to help me out of the hole, to Robert for documenting the (w)hole event with his camera, and to Cameron for doing whatever he was doing while I was stuck. Ho(le)pefull, I can get the pictures from Robert and post them here.
I give Adam a lot of crap at work because he is British. Mostly I make fun of his accent. I enjoy it. Anyway, my favorite British-ism is to say, “Shine your shoes govna” in my best/worst British accent. Well, tonight while I was reading in The Chronicles of Narnia, one of the characters used the term ‘guv’ner’. This is proof that the Brits really use this word and I don’t feel bad for making fun of him now.
Tuesday night we finally put together a good looking win in our softball league. It’s not our first victory (its our second [in three seasons]), but at least this time we beat a team that didn’t look like a Dungeons and Dragons club. We won 14-7 and I was able to raise my average 312 points (I was slumping bad). As a team, everyone played well, especially at the plate. As others on the team have noted, David G. is bad luck and should be removed from the team. He is the only person on the team that has not been there for both wins.
With the departure of one of the Four Horsemen of the Foosball Table (Mrak), it was time to select a new horseman. Since almost all of the good foosball players have left work for various reasons, we were forced to settle on Adam. With this selection, it was also time to reorganize the teams. The main reason for this was because I was tired of being on John’s team.
And the new teams are… Adam and John vs. DG and me. I would say that the teams are probably not the fairest, but like I said earlier, I was tired of being on John’s team. So DG and I have an uphill battle ahead of us if we want to remain competitive in the Foosball world.
Today’s results: Adam and John – 2 wins; DG and Me – 0 wins.
On a somewhat related note, today was the first day that I ever beat Adam in a solo match at the fooz. And not only that, I won 2 out of 3 games. Woopy!
(Note: The blogger spellchecker wanted to replace ‘foosball’ with ‘baseball’.)
(Also Note: The blogger spellchecker does not know the word ‘blogger’.)
I finally finished Ender’s Shadow after a few breaks from reading. It was interesting to relive the original Ender’s Game story, but from a slightly different perspective.
For right now, I am going to take a little hiatus from the Ender universe and step into The Chronicles of Narnia. This is an old favorite from when I was growing up. It is actually a collection of seven books by C.S. Lewis that come together to form one story. Can’t wait to get back into these.
