I haven’t been posting much, and there is a good reason for that. You see, I have taken a huge step further into nerdom and started playing my very first MMORPG. MMORPG = Massive Multi-Player Online Role-Playing Game. YES! NERD!
I have friends that have played them for years, but I have resisted. So, the other day when Louis mentioned that he was going to start playing Star Wars: Galaxies again I figured, sure, why not? I mean, its Star Wars. So I bought it, and I have been playing it, and I like it. Almost too much. Right now I’m working on my Imperial TIE Piloting skills. It’s awesome to be able to fly missions with multiple players and kick major asses.
But, don’t worry, I’ve made a promise to my less nerdy friends that it will not rule my life. So far I have not missed any pre-scheduled events due to my new gaming addiction.
As mentioned previously, I will be moving out the neighborhood that I have called home for the past three years, the Virginia Highlands, soon. In a way this sucks, and is mostly driven by the fact that my apartment complex is crap.
But, today I found a new reason to not miss the neighborhood: $7 Bacardi & Cokes. Come on, that is out of control. After my standard $1.00 tip, that brings my total for a single drink to $8.00. That is way too high. I was so upset about it that I only had 3 drinks ($21.00 + $3.00 tips = $24.00). I might not even be able to sleep tonight.
Haloscan is gone in favor of a better commenting system. With the change comes a paged style of displaying the comments. No more comment popup. I’m still undecided which way I like better, so this may change. Check it out and let me know if you experience any weirdness.
Staying with the maintenance theme for a minute, my AC is broken again. I called the apartment this morning around 10am to report the problem and naturally, no one had been by to look at it by time I got home at 4:30 pm. The fixer-upper guy finally got out around 6 and was able to determine that the compressor had gone into overload mode. Apparently it was just too darn tired to work today, so it switched itself off. I have been assured that I am #1 priority tomorrow morning, but I don’t expect this to ever truly be fixed. Thankfully, I am moving out in a month.
They left me with a huge, plastic portable AC unit. Here are some photos I took of it:

Haloscan is causing some major slowdown, so comments are disabled for the time being. End of line.
I’m doing some behind the scenes work today so expect the site to be down periodically. In fact, it’ll probably be down before you have a chance to read this.
Thanks.
UPDATE:
Back from my upgrade to the latest version of WordPress. As a result, the calendar looks pretty jacked up since the template expects my hacked version of their implementation. Should be pretty easy to fix, but its lunch time so its going to have to wait.
Please let me know if you find anything else wrong. Thanks again.
