I love Firefox, but I’m not too excited about what appears to be a memory leak in 1.5. I think this was a problem in the 1.0.x versions, but I don’t remember it being this bad. Hopefully it’ll be fixed at some point.

Firefox 1.5 Memory Leak

I have a daily Star Wars trivia calendar for 2005. I have been keeping track of how many questions I get right/wrong. I answered the last 4 months worth of questions today. I have results:
I got a respectfully nerdy 230 questions right and 81 incorrect. This equals approximately 74% correct. I think my original goal was 75%, so I came pretty close.
Those quick with math will likely point out that 230 + 81 doesn’t equal 365 days, that’s because weekends only had one question and I might have messed up the extremely scientific tally marks somewhere along the way.
Bloody Disgusting has posted their best and worst horror of 2005 list. I’m glad to see that they also share a hatred for The Ring Two.
As already blogged by many others, WordPress 2.0 has reached release candidate 3. That means the WP folks are close to a final release. So, to get ready for the big day, I downloaded RC3 and upgraded my local test site to 2.0. It should be noted that this is still a Beta release, and shouldn’t be used on a live site yet. You also should backup everything before upgrading, including the db.
The admin pages seem essentially the same, except they got a bit of a makeover. I haven’t really dug into all there is yet, but there are a few things I noted right away. One minor thing I didn’t like out of the box was that the default post editor is of the WYSIWYG style. Thankfully there is an option to turn this off, and I did. A cool new feature is that the post preview now shows inside your actual theme/layout. This way you can see exactly how the post is going to look before you post. You could do this in 1.5, but it required an extra click and no one likes extra clicks.
The best part is that my recently new theme appears to work just fine. Good stuff.
The Fountain, the next film from writer/director Darren Aronofsky.
After watching Requiem for a Dream tonight I stopped by the IMDb to see what was up with Mr. Aronofsky and was delighted to see that there was a teaser for his next film available. It has been too long since his last release and its good to see he is still at it.
It’ll star Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz.
Another successful APWBWGTTD event last night at McCray’s 6th Street Tavern, which I’ve never been to before. The rum and cokes were priced right at $5.25 (I’ve seen $7 at other places in ATL) and the Rigatoni in vodka sauce was pretty good. I would have probably added some crushed red pepper to spice it up a bit, though.
The only major problem with the evening was that Titus was MIA for the second month in a row. We’re starting to think that he doesn’t like us anymore, which is a possibility because some of us are asses.
