I have sporadic back pains, but today is an especially bad day. I hate it.

Another webserver failure. The good news is that the hard drive was fine, so my awesome blog archives remain intact.

This time, I decided to throw in the towel and end my self-hosting days. Initially I contacted Scott to see about some hosting, and he passed me onto Brian over at IndieHosts. After a few questions on my side, they were quick to set me up and get things rolling. Added bonus: I’m noticing a nice speed increase in page loads. Nice.

So, I think things are back the way they should be. There may be some broken links and such along the way. I’ll fix them as I find them.

My thanks to Scott and to Brian @ IndieHosts.

Fake Cheese Tuesday

A few months ago I noticed that cheese sometimes bothers my stomach. At least, I think it’s cheese. It could just be another example of my brain trying to destroy me. Anyway, I stopped eating cheese as a result, and I’ve been feeling better. The obvious negative to this is that I’m missing out on the deliciousness of cheese. And, I can honestly say that not having cheese makes me want to eat cheese more.

Luckily I know this really hot and smart chick who cares about my cheese needs. She mentioned that I should try Veggie Cheese, which I don’t even think I knew existed. I went with the shredded “cheddar” and damn is it good. Not only does it taste like cheddar, but it also looks and feels like real cheese. If I had tortilla chips, I’d make fake cheese nachos.

Thank you science for creating this fake cheese alternative.

This is one of my favorite newish videos on Super Deluxe. Zombies! Kung Fu! Hell! All this set to creepy sounds with cool stop-action effects make for a great viewing experience.

As everyone knows, I love french toast. It’s easily the best breakfast food in the history of breakfast foods.

As an awesome surprise, Lori made me the most complicated french toast ever conceived: Signe’s Blackberry French Toast. It takes 3 days to make. Yeah, 3 days. Was it worth it? Hell yeah. It was some good shit.

Rounding out breakfast were mimosas and Logan’s Run. I’d say it was one of the best breakfasts ever.

A few years ago, Edgemoor bought me a bottle of Appleton Estate White rum when he was in Jamaica. It’s good. Real good. I’ve tried to find it around town, but was always unsuccessful. Appleton Special, yes. Appleton White, no. In fact, it’s so good with Coke that I’ve kept the last rum and Coke’s worth in the freezer all these years, because I didn’t want to be without it in case I needed to have the most awesome rum and Coke one last time. You know, on my deathbed or something.

Anyway, this weekend I found it at Green’s (the Buford Highway one) and couldn’t be happier about it. But, here’s the best part: it’s cheaper than Bacardi.
