Spent yesterday waaaaaaaay OTP in Clarkesville, GA for the wedding of Barry and Rebekah. The ceremony and reception were held at the Glen-Ella Inn & Conference Center. It was the first outside wedding I’ve ever been to, and the weather was absolutely perfect. A little warmish in a suit, but the jacket and tie didn’t really last that long anyway.
I met Barry and Rebekah via the APWBWGTTD meetups, which is a little weird I guess. I mean, we met over the Internet, right? Anyway, other than them both going to Georgia Tech, they’re pretty cool and fun to be around. I guess as long as we don’t hangout during football season, we can remain friends.
The ceremony was nice (and quick) and was conducted by Chance, another ATL blogger. Following was a cocktail hour with some pretty good hors d’oeuvres, including a ham and cheese biscuit thing. Yum. Next up, the party moved to the pavilion thing for the reception where more good food was had and lots of dancing took place. I’d have to say the highlight of the evening was when the DJ played the Team Awesome theme song (Gnarls Barkley – Transformer). After seeing the newlyweds off, we ended the night by hanging at the pool.
In an effort to save on gas mileage Lori and I rode with Dave in his V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Also there, but not cool enough to carpool with us was Duane and James.
So, congratulations to the newlyweds and many happy years together.

we are cool… we just went up a day earlier. I would have preferred not to drive… now that my car is all dusty and shit.
