completely incomplete.

Day 4, no heat, but the part has been ordered.

I’m tired of talking about the lack of heat. Here are some other things going on:

  • This is my description of how I broke the blinds on the big window in my apartment as told to Carr during our AIM discussion today (capitalization and spelling are how I type without spelling/grammar check):
‘well, i have no heat so i was in a bad mood anyway. so i was making
sure that the windows were locked becuase when they are locked there
is a tighter seal with the window and the outer window parts. i put
the blinds up to check. went to put the blinds down and only the left
side would go down. now the left side was all the way down and the
right side was all the way up. i pulled on the cord but the right
side was just stuck. i first ripped off the fake blinds at the top
that cover up the blind housing thing at the top of the window. this
also broke the 3 clips that hold the fake blinds on the blind housing
thing. then i started punching it until the pieces inside rattled.
now neither side would go up or down. things were worse. i took the
whole damn thing down and bent the metal housing thing back into shape
and reattached the cord mechanism thing inside. i held up the whole
thing and pulled on the cords and both sides went up and down without
    any problems. problem solved.’
  • Lots of good DVDs are still to come in 2004:
    • 11/30 – Spider-Man 2; Billy Madison/Happy Gilmore Set
    • 12/07 – Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story
    • 12/14 – Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King (Extended Edition)
    • 12/21 – Napoleon Dynamite
    • 12/28 – Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

There are also many excellent discs the first part of 05.

  • I finished The Descent last night. It was an excellent read. I have a few questions about the conclusion that I might try to find the answers to somewhere on the internet. I went ahead and picked up Year Zero also from Jeff Long. Originally I reported that I liked Jeff Long’s writing because it was ’super fast paced’. I’d like to amend that statement. Its not that the book is very fast paced, its that pivotal moments in the story are just instantly revealed. They are just sprung upon the reader and then the story continues on like nothing happened. Its really quite different than anything I have read before.

Its like going to see Star Wars and it going like this, ‘Hey, I’m Luke Skywalker. I live on this boring ass planet called Tatooine. I own these two droids. DARTH VADER IS MY FATHER! I live with my aunt and uncle. We farm moisture and drink some weird blue colored milk at dinner. LEIA IS MY SISTER! There is this old dude that lives out in the Jundland Wastes named Ben. He has a beard.’. Ok, so its not chronologically accurate, but you get the idea. I can only hope that Year Zero has a similar style.

That’s it for now.

Now that its time to use theA/C (I don’t do well in the pollen months, I’d rather pay for A/C a little early then deal with open windows and sneezing), it appears that its not working again. Its now 78° and the ‘A/C’ has been running for about two hours. [...]
