Last night I went to see Matt Pond PA at The Loft with Robert and Sue. This was my first time at The Loft. It’s a good sized venue for shows of this type with the only negative being the damn restroom attendant. Again, I hate those fockers.
I don’t generally get into music like this (ie: I’m not hip to the whole indie scene). Give me some Deftones or Pantera or Outkast, and I’m usually set. But, these guys are super talented and have a sound that is unique to my ear. By my calculations, this is my fourth time seeing them live and like always, they put on a great show. My only complaint would be that the cello sounded a bit off, which was disappointing because it’s really what makes their music standout to me.
I picked up a t-shirt and The Green Fury.
The opening act was a band called Youth Group from Australia. They were pretty solid and I enjoyed listening to them while watching some March Madness. They did a pretty kickass cover of Alphaville’s Forever Young.
PA = Pennsylvania
SweeT!
They have some mp3 downloads on their site. You should check them out, yo.
You missed out on Snow Patrol. They’re a fantastic band from England…
Boba, thanks for bringing this band to my attention, I likey very muchy. I downloaded a bunch of their tracks from iTunes. And I’m glad to see you’re finally branching out from your normal music, which best listened to while murdering someone.
Adam: I’ve not heard anything from them. I’ll have to check them out.
Edgemoor: Glad you approve of mppa. But, I’m still going to listen to the scary music. Sorry.

I have never heard of this band… what does the PA mean?
