completely incomplete.

Just got back last night from a fun weekend trip to Chicago to visit my good friends Adam and Melissa. This was my second time to the fine city of Chicago, and I have to say that I like it there. On this go round, Robert and the team of Cameron and Roz joined in the fun.

Friday night involved Chicago deep dish pizza and an engagement party for Adam and Melissa. The party was a blast and continued into the late night. There was a keg, a dog, a baby, a long discussion about whether or not the 3 different colors on candy corn actually were 3 different flavors, etc. After that we went back to their apartment where I briefly fell asleep on the couch watching TV while others talked or something.

Saturday had us walking around town and hitting a few stores. The most important part was the Puma store and the Agile Track Jacket I bought. It should be noted that I have zero plans to actually run in my new track jacket. Next, we stopped at a bar and had a few drinks where I had the Electric Cool Aid (2, in fact) and they were damn good. They contained OJ, cranberry, melon, rum, amaretto, etc. Sounds ungood, but thats not true. We hit a local Italian joint for dinner and then some bars for more drinks and some rapping, West Coast style. The evening ended at a chill bar with pool and rum and cokes.

5 hours later it was Sunday morning and we were up and ready for the Architecture River Tour. I was a little unhappy about waking up that early, but was really glad that we got to do the tour. I would rate it as ‘exceptional’. After that I had French toast and sausage links and was happy again. The rest of the day consisted of resting before heading to the airport for my flight.

To top off the weekend, when I arrived at the airport in Chicago I saw Peter Mayhew, aka Chewbacca. I wanted to say hi and ask for a photo, but I didn’t want to disturb him. He’s really tall.

Big thanks to Adam and Melissa for providing a place to stay and for showing the out-of-towners a good time. Can’t wait to do it again.

Photographic goodness here.
