I’m sick of reading The Rules of Attraction, so I’m going to finish it tonight.

Next up is The Things They Carried. Its a book I’ve never heard of, but it came with a personalized recommendation from a trusted source, so I’m looking forward to it. I’m hoping I can get my head into this one easier than The Rules of Attraction, which I’ve been reading for far too long.

Well, today’s the day. I’ve never been more happy to check the mail. Thank you Amazon for your prompt shipping.

I went with the Special Illustrated Edition so that I don’t have to go check the Internet whenever some piece of art is mentioned and I have no idea what it looks like. Now I just have to finish Angels & Demons, which should happen in the next few days. Hopefully Da Vinci won’t suck ass.

This month marks the THREE YEAR anniversary of The Da Vinci Code’s release. In this time there has been NO paperback edition. And while that’s mostly true, it’s not totally true. Apparently there was a paperback awhile ago, as a reader commented last year when I bitched about this, but it was pulled when Da Vinci Madness caught on. There are also paperback editions from overseas that can be found on eBay. That’s really too much work, though.

But, there is a light at the end of this long, greedy tunnel. Both Amazon and Barnes & Noble have a paperback edition listed for release on March 28 (of this year!). I’ve pre-ordered the Special Illustrated Edition paperback.

While I’m happy that I’ll finally be able to enjoy a story that over 36 million others have already, it’s total crap that it took this long to be released in paperback. I’m sure the fact that the movie is due this May has a lot to do with the timing of the paperback release.

As you can probably tell, this has been a source of anger for me for some time now.
